Mr. Hugh Horning - President, General Manager, and Field Metallographer
Mr. Horning was first metallographer and then Marketing Manager for Lehigh Testing Laboratories in New Castle, Delaware, before founding Amenex Associates, Inc. with George Langford in 1986. At Amenex Hugh has been the business manager and backup field and laboratory metallographer when not immersed in the many tasks involved in the management of a small business.
Roger Corneliussen, Ph.D - Polymers Consultant
Dr. Corneliussen specializes in failure mechanisms of polymeric materials, fracture of polymers, polymer morphology, polymer blends and alloys, and cerametamers (molecular mixtures of polymer, ceramic, and metal). Dr. Corneliussen also is founder and publisher of Polymer Notes, a monthly current awareness journal containing 1000 abstracts per issue and distributed to numerous companies.
George Langford, Sc.D. - Principal Consultant
Dr. Langford, a co-founder of Amenex Associates, has over 35 years of experience as a metallurgist, scientist, consultant, failure analyst, and expert witness. He has investigated hundreds of materials-related problems for a variety of clients covering the areas of corrosion, mechanical and dimensional analysis, physical, mechanical and chemical metallurgy, metallography, microstructural analysis, and optical and electron microscopy.
Lewis H. Reid, P.E. - Metallurgical Engineer
Mr. Reid is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. He performs failure analysis investigations in the areas of mechanical stress, corrosion resistance, welding procedure, and welding design. Previously, Mr. Reid was Manager of Metallurgical Engineering for Suntech, a division of Sun Oil Company, were he headed failure investigations on high temperature heater tubes, transfer piping, and heat exchanger tubes.
