Overall view at Amenex former office

This instrument was purchased new in 1975 for $175K; Amenex bought it from the first owner and set it up for an overall cost of $25K. It has had the same principal operator since new.

On the right is shown the heart of the instrument:
the three wavelength-dispersive X-ray spectrometers and the excellent light-optical system for selecting the areas of interest as well as setting the specimen height for alignment of the specimen with the spectrometer crystals.
There are also two very nice rotating stages
and a stage control for tilt/rotate.
