Bausch & Lomb stage micrometer, in excellent case and in new condition.

In the montage at left, the case is shown closed, then unsnapped, and the roughly one by three inch glass slide is shown at bottom. At the right of the montage, the B&L logo is shown enlarged with the former owner's QA tag (removable), then an image made with a metallurgical (reflected light) microscope at 500X nominal magnification, simply by placing the digital camera over the eyepiece. At the bottom right the slide's legend indicates that the fine lines are spaced 0.001 inch (one mil) apart and the coarse lines 0.01 inch (1/100 inch, which can be resolved with the unaided eye on ruled machinist's scales). This stage micrometer is in mint condition in its original leatherette case. The only blemish is on the bottom of the case where the leatherette was delaminated by removal of a sticky ID tag.
